CaptureStephen K. Crawford, 83, of Oil City, passed away Sunday evening, June 23, 2019, at The Caring Place in Franklin.

He was born in Emlenton on November 13, 1935, to the late Benjamin and Adeline (King) Crawford.

He enlisted and served in the U.S. Army from 1954 through 1959.

Mr. Crawford was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City.

Stephen enjoyed doing yard work, watching NASCAR, and attending local car races.

Mr. Crawford was employed as a truck driver for many years, retiring from Advantage Tank Lines in 2005.

He was married in New York on June 24, 1962, to the former Ruth Ann Sherman, and she survives.

Also surviving is a son, Stephen K. Crawford, Jr. and (his wife Marcia) of Franklin; and a daughter, Kristina Crawford (and Jeff Dempsey) of Oil City; his grandchildren: Travis Jeffrey Dempsey and Zachary Stephen Dempsey of Oil City, and Brandon and Katie Kimball of Franklin; and a great-grandson, Keaton Kimball. He is also survived by his brother, Jeff Crawford and his wife Dora of Indiana state; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Grant Crawford; and a sister, Susan Mullen.

A private funeral service with military honors will be held for the immediate family. Rev. Tim Harmon, pastor of Second Presbyterian Church will officiate. Military honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard. Private interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Cranberry.
