PARIS, France — All eyes were on French inventor Franky Zapata at Bastille Day celebrations in Paris when he flew over the Champs-Elysees on a “flyboard” he invented.

Zapata held a special demonstration, his first at an official military event, to demonstrate potential military applications of the invention.
