Friday Night’s Flooding Closes Several Local Roadways; New Bethlehem Resident Displaced

CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) — Friday night’s flooding has closed several local roadways.

UPDATE — 12:01 p.m.: Broad Street, Route 28, Route 66 and Route 861 have reopened in the New Bethlehem area.)

A representative of Clarion County 9-1-1 around 10:00 a.m. reported the following roads are closed:

– Olean Trail to South Reidsburg in Porter Township;

– Curllsville Road where it intersects with Route 861 due to a bridge being out. That area is completely impassible;

– Oak Grove Road, in Elk Township, just off Bus Mong Road. The road is closed and blocked off for the remainder of the weekend; and

– Redbank Township area: Town Run Road, Middle Run Road, and Brookville Street in Hawthorn Borough are currently closed.

According to Clarion County 9-1-1, there are a few Redbank Township residents who are displaced, and the Red Cross has been notified.

The center also received a few calls this morning in response to Friday night’s storm with flooded basements and trees down in the New Bethlehem area.

No injuries were reported.
