Authorities Searching for Person Who Stole $1200 from American Legion

STRATTANVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — Police are seeking information on a theft that occurred at the American Legion in Strattanville earlier this week.

According to Clarion-based State Police, between 3:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, a theft occurred at the American Legion on Washington Street in Strattanville Borough.

Police say the perpetrator entered the building as patrons were entering to play Bingo, and then walked up to an unlocked cash register in the middle of the main hallway before proceeding to steal approximately $1,200.00 in cash.

Police said the money primarily consisted of $20 bills.

The investigation is ongoing.
