MEGAN HADDEN — SENIOR — CRANBERRY

Daughter of: Butch Hadden and stepmom Sharon Hadden.
Sports Played: Basketball and Softball.
Family Members Playing/Played Sports: Her older brothers, Cory and Lucas, both played golf.
2018-19 Highlights: She helped Cranberry to the District 9 Class 2A softball title for the second straight season and to the PIAA semifinals for the first time in school history while being named a third-team All-KSAC outfield. She hit right around .500 with three home runs and 23 RBIs … In basketball, she played in 12 games scoring 47 points including 11 against Oil City.
Post-High School Plans: She would like to play sports in college.

Q&A With Megan Hadden

D9Sports: What is your favorite sport to participate in and why?
MH: Softball because the coaches and the team are so fun to be around at games and practices.

D9Sports: What is your favorite memory, moment, game from playing high school sports?
MH: My favorite memory would have to be making history by going to the final four for states or making my 8-to-3 double play in playoffs.

D9Sports: Why do you play high school sports?
MH: I play high school sports for my dad and for my mom who passed away when I was 7 and never saw me play a sport.

D9Sports: Who has had the most influence on your athletic career and why?
MH: I think my dad and my brothers have the biggest influence on my athletic career because they push me in every sport and worked with me ever since I was young.

D9Sports: If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be and why?
MH: To switch volleyball and softball season because it always raining or freezing so we can’t get our games in.

D9Sports: If you could be president for a day, what would be the one major thing you would do?
MH: To change the way the state uses federal tax money.

D9Sports: What is your ideal place to live? County, City, Suburb? Why?
MH: Country because it’s peaceful and barely any neighbors.

D9Sports: What would someone who doesn’t know you be surprised to find out about you?
MH: I played basketball at UNC and Duke. And I love high school.

D9Sports: What is your strongest subject in school?
MH: Gym class.

D9Sports: If there was one period in history or one event in history you could go back to, what would it be?
MH: 1900’s to see the first MLB World Series.

D9Sports: What question do you wish I would have asked you? And what is the answer to it?
MH: How long I’ve played/been around sports. I’ve been around sports all my life, my dad used to play softball and bowl and I always went to watch him, along with my brothers. But I’ve played sports since I was 7.
