Motorcyclist Life-Flighted Following Crash on Route 949

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) — A motorcyclist was life-flighted following a crash on Saturday afternoon on State Route 949.

The accident occurred around 12:28 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, as a 2016 Indian Roadmaster was traveling south on Route 949, in Heath Township, Jefferson County, negotiating a right-hand curve in the roadway when the motorcycle lost traction and overturned onto its right side, according to Marienville-based State Police.

Police say the motorcycle slid approximately 25 feet to its final resting position on the right-hand shoulder of the road.

The operator was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and suffered unknown injuries.

According to police, he was life-flighted.

Sigel Fire Department and Sigel Ambulance assisted at the scene.

The name of the motorcyclist was not released.
