Walk to End Alzheimer’s Coming to Clarion

CLARION, Pa. — The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place on October 5th at the Clarion County Courthouse in Clarion.

Nearly 200 people from the Clarion area are expected at this year’s event to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer’s disease.

On Walk day, participants will honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease with Promise Flowers during the poignant Promise Garden Ceremony – a moving display of hope to represent the personal reasons participants join together to fight Alzheimer’s. All participants are invited to Walk in the Autumn Leaf Festival parade next to the End ALZ Float.

More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease – the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 16 million family members and friends provide care to people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. In Pennsylvania alone, there are more than 400,000 people living with the disease and 676,000 caregivers.

Participants can join a team or register to walk as an individual at alz.org/walk.
