LUCINDA, Pa. (EYT) – Gatesman Auto Body has gone through a lot of changes since its humble beginnings in 1951.

Jack Gatesman, started his business in a small three-stall garage.

The garage (pictured below) was the site of Gatesman Auto Body until 1959 when it moved to its current location.

In 1976, an addition was added to the original 4,000 square feet structure, making an additional 2,500 square feet of working area.  This portion of the shop is mainly used for mechanical repairs, as well as frame straightening.

The picture below depicts the shop at that time.

This is the building before the addition of the larger office, parts room, waiting room, and estimating bay.

In 1989, Jack sold the business to his sons, Dana and John, at which time the business became a partnership.

In 1995, Dana and John joined the CARSTAR Franchise, an international franchise of high-quality collision repair facilities.

In 1999, another addition was completed bringing the total square footage to approximately 9,750.

Gatesman Auto Body has continued to grow throughout the years while maintaining its values instilled by Jack over 65 years ago.

Gatesmans are currently hiring for several positions, as follows:

 
Full-Time Mechanical Technician Helper: responsibilities would include state inspections, Lube, Oil, and Filter change, Alignments, and assisting our mechanic. Towing and Service calls are also a part of this position. Valid Driver’s License is required.

Full-Time Painter’s Helper and Prepper/Detailer: responsibilities could include cleaning of parts, masking, sanding, denib & polish, buffing, and mixing room and booth upkeep.

Full-Time Combo Technician: responsibilities include collision repair and painting. Please call with any questions.

Full-Time Collision Repair Technician: responsibilities include collision repair. Please call with any questions.

Full-Time Painter: please call with any questions.

Estimator: responsibilities would include writing estimates for insurance claims and keeping up with the photos and supplement information that needs to be sent to keep insurance companies up to date on repairs.
