CLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Wednesday evening’s Clarion-Limestone School Board meeting was canceled due to a threat against the board.
Those in attendance at the meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday were greeted and asked to wait, as the school board members were in a meeting with Superintendent Amy Glasl discussing something that “required their immediate attention.”
Nearly one hour later, board members arrived at the meeting, but only for a brief time.
School Board President Molly Greenawalt then made an announcement that a threat had been made against the school board.
“Because of the seriousness of the threat and the scope of the legality involved, we have decided as a board that we are going to cancel tonight’s meeting,” Greenawalt stated.
Specific details on the threat were not released.
According to a representative of the Clarion-based State Police, the threat against the board is currently under investigation, with several interviews being conducted.
Officials are expected to issue a press release as soon as additional information is available.
