MADERA CO., California — The California Highway Patrol is trying to find the owner of an emu discovered running loose along a stretch of highway in Madera County.
Officers responded to Highway 99, near Avenue 17 in Madera County, after receiving reports of a large bird, initially thought to be an ostrich, wandering along the roadway.
The bird was safely captured and turned over to local Animal Services officials.
