Driver Injured in DUI Crash in Rose Township

ROSE TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A man was injured in a DUI-related crash that occurred early this morning in Rose Township.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 12:53 a.m. on Sunday, September 22, troopers were dispatched to a one-vehicle crash on Ramseytown Road near the intersection of Baha Lane in Rose Township, Jefferson County.

Upon their arrival, troopers observed an unoccupied disabled vehicle, a 2001 Ford F350 pickup, that had crashed into a utility pole.

During the investigation of the crash, the male subject — a 21-year-old Brookville male — who troopers believed had fled the scene returned with fresh, visible injuries consistent with the crash.

During interaction with the man, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanated from his breath/person. He disclosed that he was the driver of the vehicle.

Jefferson County EMS transported him to Penn Highlands DuBois for his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.

The name of the driver was not released.
