KEMPSEY, Australia — A koala is currently recovering after somehow surviving being struck by a car and then being stuck in the front grill of the vehicle for about 6 miles at speeds of up to 70 mph.
The koala, which has been named Wazza by Port Macquarie Koala Hospital staff, somehow managed to escape the harrowing ordeal with nothing more serious than minor friction burns on her hind legs.
