Police Investigating Sexual Assault of Six-Year-Old Girl

FRENCHCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police are investigating the sexual assault of a young child that allegedly occurred several years ago in Venango County.

Around 9:56 a.m. on September 24, Franklin-based State Police received an investigation request from Venango County Children and Youth Services (CYS) regarding an alleged sexual assault.

According to police, preliminary information received is that a 12-year-old female victim from Erie, who was reportedly six years old at the time of the crime, was sexually assaulted at a location in Frenchcreek Township, Venango County.

No further details of the investigation are being released at this time due to the nature of the alleged crime.

The case remains under investigation.
