Charges Against Rimersburg Man Accused of Aggravated Assault by Vehicle Withdrawn

TOBY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Multiple charges against a Rimersburg man accused of felony aggravated assault by vehicle in relation to a crash that occurred in Toby Township earlier this year were withdrawn.

Court documents indicate the following charges against 55-year-old John Glenn Seybert, of Rimersburg, were withdrawn on Tuesday, October 1:

– Aggravated Assault by Vehicle, Felony 3
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2 (two counts)
– Careless Driving, Summary

One summary count of Reckless Driving filed against Seybert was transferred to non-traffic court.

The charges stem from a crash that occurred in Toby Township on February 17, 2019.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint filed by Officer Jones of PA State Police, around 6:00 p.m. on February 17, 2019, John Glenn Seybert was operating a red Pontiac Vibe transporting two known passengers, traveling down Cherry Run Road in Toby Township, Clarion County, when Seybert lost control of the vehicle and rolled it over onto its roof in a ditch.

The complaint notes that one of the passengers suffered a broken back and was ultimately transported to Allegheny General Hospital, while the other passenger suffered only minor injuries.

The charges were filed through Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller’s office on Friday, September 13.
