North Clarion Boys/Girls XC Beat Moniteau; Girls Finish Regular Season Unbeaten

North Clarion girls Undefeated 2019FRILLS CORNERS, Pa. — The North Clarion cross country teams closed out their dual meet season at home with team victories, while also celebrating their four seniors: Haley Bauer, Jacob Bauer, Nick Gilara and Wyatt Troup.

The varsity boys defeated Moniteau, 21-37.

Jacob Bauer and Kaine McFarland took one-two for the Wolves with both young men running their fastest career times on the North Clarion course. Jacob won the race with a time of 17:59.

Rounding out the scoring for the Wolves was Braden Custer (5th), who posted a career-fastest time; Aaron Lencer (6th), who ran a course-personal best; and Wyatt Troup (7th), running his season’s personal-best time.

Sam Burgoon and Dakota Funfer of Moniteau finished third and fourth, respectively.

The North Clarion varsity girls finished their season undefeated in the KSAC posting a win over Moniteau of 22-39.

They were led by their sophomore Jordyn Hendrickson, who finished first with a career-best time of 21:38. Also scoring for the Wolves was Rachel Bauer; Katie Bauer, who ran a career-best time; Nicole Fair; and Addison Shaftic, also with a career-best time.

Hannah Burgoon of Moniteau finished in second place overall.

The junior high boys’ race was unscorable due to Moniteau not having five runners.

The North Clarion boys brought in the first six runners.

The race was won by Patrick Young in a time of 14:19, followed by Dane Sliker, Gabriel Fair, Nathan Culp, Mason Shaftic and Asher Bell.

The North Clarion junior high girls’ race was won by North Clarion 25-30.

Abigail Jewart of Moniteau won overall in a time of 15:31.

Emma Buckley finished first for the She-Wolves followed by teammates Ava Best (3rd), Kaylee Castner (5th), Brynn Siegel (7th) and Akeela Greenawalt (8th).

The Wolves will be traveling to the Clarion County Park next Thursday for the KSAC Invitational.
