Ben KoyackJACKSONVILLE, Fl. (EYT) – The Jacksonville Jaguars have brought fifth-year tight end Ben Koyack, an Oil City native, to their roster.

Koyack, a 2011 graduate of Oil City High School, was highly-touted as a 5-star recruit after racking up a PIAA District 10 record 152 receptions and 2,591 yards for his career. He was drafted out of Notre Dame by the Jaguars in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL draft.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Koyack would join to active roster after James O’Shaughnessy, the Jaguars top tight end, was placed on injured reserve due to a torn ACL. Koyack had been released by the Jaguars as of September 1 after the team picked up Seth DeValve.

“I think we just feel comfortable. Ben’s [Koyack] been here, so we’re comfortable. He knows the system,” Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone stated on Wednesday.

Koyack has accumulated 24 career catches for 199 yards and a touchdown while playing in 30 games with the Jaguars during the 2016-17 seasons. He spent the 2015 campaign on the Jacksonville’s practice squad.

He caught the game-winning touchdown pass in the third quarter of the club’s wild-card game victory last season versus Buffalo.
