Two Flown from Scene Following Motorcycle Crash on Route 8

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — Two individuals were flown from the scene of a motorcycle crash on Route 8 on Friday night.

The PA State Police Franklin barracks investigated a motorcycle crash that occurred around 10:40 p.m. on Friday, October 11, on the 1900 Block of Route 8, in Cornplanter Township, Venango County.

Police say a 2009 Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle — operated by 26-year-old Issac Zachary Seniour, of Oil City — drove off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole, two separate mailbox posts, and two separate decorative posts. The utility pole was completely broken off.

During the crash, the motorcycle broke up into numerous pieces, according to police.

Seniour and his passenger — 34-year-old Marci Marie Cirell, of Franklin — both suffered severe injuries.

Seniour was flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny Gerneral Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Cirell was flown to UPMC Hamot in Erie.

State Route 8 in the area of the crash was closed for several hours to facilitate the reconstruction of the crash and replacement of the utility pole.
