State Police Calls: Domestic Violence Incident, Deer Collision

CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police responded to the following calls:

Police Respond to Domestic Violence Incident in Highland Township

Around 8:30 a.m. on October 9, an incident of domestic violence occurred on Rebecca Drive, in Highland Township, Clarion County.

Police say a verbal argument between a 33-year-old female and a 33-year-old male, both of Clarion, became physical, and both parties struck each other.

No injuries were reported by either party, and both were cited for harassment.

The names of the individuals involved were not released.

Deer Collision in Elk Township

Police responded to a one-vehicle crash around 6:20 p.m. on October 6 in Elk Township, Clarion County.

This crash occurred as a 2011 Subaru Impreza, driven by 27-year-old Mathias J. Smerkar, of Fryburg, was traveling west on State Route 208, just east of Clark Road. A deer ran from the north berm of the roadway into the path of the vehicle causing it to strike the deer.

Smerkar was using a seat belt and was not injured.
