Deer Collision in Elk Township

Police responded to a one-vehicle crash around 6:20 p.m. on October 6 in Elk Township, Clarion County.

This crash occurred as a 2011 Subaru Impreza, driven by 27-year-old Mathias J. Smerkar, of Fryburg, was traveling west on State Route 208, just east of Clark Road. A deer ran from the north berm of the roadway into the path of the vehicle causing it to strike the deer.
