Rimersburg Man Accused of Grabbing Woman by the Throat, Throwing Her to the Ground Faces Hearing on Tuesday

CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) — A Rimersburg man who allegedly grabbed a woman by the throat and threw her to the ground will stand for a hearing on October 15.

According to court documents, a preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, for 58-year-old Thomas Martin Krannacker in front of Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller.

Krannacker faces the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Strangulation – Applying Pressure to Throat or Neck, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

The hearing was originally scheduled for September 17; however, it was continued to October 15.

The charges are the result of a domestic altercation that occurred on September 8 at a residence on Cherry Run Road in Rimersburg, Toby Township, Clarion County.

Krannacker is currently free on a $2,500.00 cash security.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint filed by Trooper McGinnis, of PSP Clarion, around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, he was dispatched to the above-described location in reference to an inactive domestic.

When he arrived, he met with the victim. He observed bruises on her.

According to the complaint, the victim reported that Thomas Krannacker came to her house to pick up a cellphone on that day (September 8).

According to the victim, Krannacker grabbed her by the throat and pushed her up against the refrigerator. The victim stated that she was unable to breathe when this happened, the complaint states.

The victim reported that Krannacker then grabbed her by the clothing/body and forcefully threw her onto the floor. She then went outside, and Krannacker followed her, and Krannacker then pushed her to the ground two times, the complaint states.

The victim suffered multiple bruises during this altercation, according to the complaint.

Krannacker was arraigned at 7:15 p.m. on September 8 in Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill’s office.
