Relisten to the match:

Ferringer recorded a match-high 22 kills while adding 19 digs and four blocks, and Hanna had 12 kills, including seven during an epic fourth-set comeback that clinched the match for the Berries, who won 3-1 (25-15, 19-25, 25-21, 25-23).

“Our passes and our back row, we were passing a lot,” Ferringer, who was named the Hager Paving Player of the Match, said when asked what led to her success. “Emily’s (Duncan) sets were beautiful. It was all just clicking.”

Things clicked best for Cranberry in the second half of the fourth set after Keystone threatened to force a fifth-and-deciding set by racing out to a 17-11 lead in Set Four.

But Hanna recorded seven kills and Ferringer added four to lead the Berries on a set-sending 14-6 run to put the match away.

“Just knowing that we have to dig down deep and we can do just gives us the confidence we need to go forward.”

The run started with back-to-back kills from Hanna before Maria Anderson forced a Keystone timeout with a kill that closed the Cranberry deficit to 17-14.

The timeout didn’t slow the Berries down, as Hanna added two more kills to make it 17-16 before a hitting error temporarily stopped the bleeding for Keystone making it 18-16.

But a Keystone service error and a kill by Ferringer tied the set at 18.

Keystone scored four of the next six points to go ahead 22-20, but a kill by Ferringer, a hitting error by Keystone and three kills by Hanna helped Cranberry close out the set.

Things started nicely for the Berries, who took the first set with relative ease, 25-15, but Keystone responded in the second set with the 25-19 win thank in part to three kills and an ace from Ceayra Altman.

The third set then went back and forth with Keystone leading 13-9 at one point only to watch Cranberry tied things up at 17-all.

Keystone went back ahead 19-17 on a tandem block by McKenna Kaye and Leah Exley but kills by Ferringer, Duncan, Anderson and Kaylie Bruce helped Cranberry rally for the 25-21 victory.

Duncan ran Cranberry’s offense with 32 set assists, while Maddie Cornelius paced the defense with 21 digs.

Kaye paced Keystone with 11 kills, seven digs, three blocks and three aces with Alyssa Dunlap adding 10 kills and Altman nine digs and nine kills. Emma Burrow also had nine digs for the Lady Panthers, while Alexandria Johnston ran the offense with 23 set assists and added five kills and four digs.

Cranberry improved to 12-2 with the win with Keystone falling to 10-6.

The Berries are back in action at Oil City Thursday, while Keystone hosts North Clarion Thursday in a match orginally scheduled for Monday but moved to Thursday on Wednesday.
