Father of Teen Accused in Shooting Incident Accused of Removing Gun From Scene

BUTLER CO., Pa. (EYT) — The father of one of the teens accused of a shooting incident in Cherry Township, Butler County, was arrested for allegedly removing a gun used in the shooting.

According to the Butler Eagle, 57-year-old David V. Rodgers, of Donegal Township was arrested on Friday.

Police say Rodgers allegedly removed a gun believed to have been used in the shooting from a house on Haysville Road in Fairview Township before state troopers could search the home.

Police noted that due to a prior conviction, Rodgers is barred from having guns under state law.

Rodgers’ son, 19-year-old Adam J. Rodgers, along with 19-year-old Henry Leroy, of East Brady, and 17-year-old Tyler Martin, of Slippery Rock, were charged with attempted homicide in connection with the shooting, which occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 17.
