Gary R Mccleary, 77, of Knox passed away Friday, October 11, 2019 at his home.
Gary was born January 25,1942, in Salem. Gary was the son of the late Hazel McCleary.
Gary attended Keystone High School then went to work at Knox Glass and Sportsman’s Speedway he also ran Mission Possible.
On June 17, 1971 he married Darlene Kagle who survives
Gary enjoyed racing, yard sales, wrestling, old westerns, visiting with family and friends, watching birds and spending time with his cat, Junior.
He served the Knox Vol. fire co as fire police and was a member of the Clarion County Rod & Gun club. He was a member of the New Life Community Chapel in Van, Pa.
Along with his wife, Gary is survived by his children Brenda (John Olsen) Peterson of Lake Jackson, TX, Ken (Linda) Mccleary of Snydersburg , Michelle (Dan) Reid of Strattanville and Blenton (Katrina) Mccleary of Harrisonburg, VA and a brother Randy Davis of Strattanville. Also surviving are his grandchildren Jacob Reid of Strattanville, Amy Campbell, Chad McCleary of West Virginia, Kiley McCleary and Cael McCleary of Harrisonburg, VA and Adam Perkins of Snydersburg. He is also survived by two Great grandchildren, Sebastian Campbell of Tionesta and Alexis McCleary of West Virginia.
Gary was proceeded in death by his mother Hazel and his aunt and uncle (that raised him) Frank and Kathlyn Monrean and 2 grandsons Douglas Daum Jr and Shawn McCleary.
Per Gary’s wishes there will be no viewing. A memorial will be held on Wednesday, November 27 at 11am at The New Life Community Chapel it’s a meal to follow.
