Campbell PicShirley Ann Campbell of Clarion passed away on November 4, 2019 at Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sligo. She was 82 years of age.

Shirley was born on March 15, 1937 in Callensburg, Clarion County, the daughter of the late Paul and Hazel (Fulmer) Brenneman.

On December 27, 1953, she married John Kenneth Campbell, Sr., of Clarion. Together they shared 54 years of marriage and raising their children. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2007.

Shirley was a devoted homemaker and mother first and foremost. She and her husband enjoyed many years of camping with family and friends. They traveled and camped throughout the eastern United States and Nova Scotia. She was very social and took the time to chat and got to know every person she met. She was known by the neighborhood children as “Mom.”

Shirley previously worked for Johnny Garneau’s Golden Spike restaurant, K-Mart (in the greeting card department) and for Mary Kay Cosmetics. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clarion, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Clarion County Historical Society and the O-I Glass Slippers Square Dance group. She enjoyed collecting Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, dolls of all sorts, tiny bottles and Avon bottles.

Shirley is survived by her three sons, John K. Campbell, Jr. (Nancy) of Marble, Francis P. Campbell (Renee) of Clarion, and Barry J. Campbell (Heidi) of Hawthorn; her son-in-law, Chuck Zacherl of Strattanville; 20 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her loving brother, Cloyd E. Brenneman (Erma) of Hermitage; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Williams, Shirley Fink (Robert), and Sandy Hannold (Tom); along with numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Zacherl; a sister, Delores “Sis” Whitmer and husband Bud; a nephew, Robin Brenneman; brothers-in-law, James and Robert Campbell; and sisters-in-law, Ellen Finnefrock, Marie Corbett, Thelma McClaine and Marion Myers.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion.

Memorial services will be held privately.

Interment will be in the Callensburg Cemetery.

Online condolences may be sent to the family and additional information may be obtained by visiting www.goblefh.net.
