According to court documents, the following charges against Trevor G. Williams, 33, of Knox, were held for court on Wednesday, November 13:

– Aggravated Assault by Vehicle While DUI, Felony 2
– DUI: General Impairment/Incapable of Driving Safely — 1st Offense, Misdemeanor
– Disregard Traffic Lane (single), Summary
– Reckless Driving, Summary
– Restrictions on Alcoholic Beverages, Summary

The charges have been transferred to the Venango County Court of Common Pleas.

Williams remains free on $5,000.00 unsecured bail.

The charges are the result of a head-on collision that occurred on U.S. 322 in Cranberry Township north of the intersection with Hill City Road, in Cranberry Township, Venango County, on September 30.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 2:48 p.m. on September 30, Trooper Smolko, of the Franklin-based State Police, responded to an accident at the above-described location.

According to the complaint, Trevor Williams’ vehicle crossed over the center line and struck another vehicle head-on on a straight portion of the roadway.

When the fire department was cutting back the roof of Williams’ vehicle, an approximately half-empty 12-pack of beer was observed on the front passenger floor, and an empty can was seen on the floor behind the driver’s seat, along with an empty prescription bottle of Lorazepam, the complaint states.

When Trooper Smolko spoke to Williams in the back of the ambulance, he also detected alcohol on Williams breath, the complaint indicates.

Reports from two witnesses both stated that Williams had first driven off the right side of the roadway onto the dirt shoulder and then served to the left, crossing the center line and striking the other vehicle, according to the complaint.

A search warrant was granted and found that Williams BAC level was .067% two hours and 27 minutes after the crash.

Charges were filed against Williams through Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office on Friday, October 25.
