Man Who Shoved Woman, Repeatedly Punched Man, Threatened Him With Hunting Rifle to Be Sentenced Next Week

CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) – A 21-year-old man who shoved and threatened a woman and then repeatedly punched a man and threatened him with a hunting rifle is due to be sentenced next week.

According to court documents, Daniel Stephen Hilliard, of Oil City, will be sentenced before President Judge James Arner at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, on the following charges:

– Terroristic Threats With Intent to Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2

Hilliard pleaded guilty to the above charges on Wednesday, November 6.

As a result of the plea agreement, the following charges were dismissed:

– Terroristic Threats With Intent to Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary (two counts)

Hilliard is currently free on a $25,000.00 surety posted by a professional bondsman.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Monday, June 3, when Trooper Lingle, of the Clarion-based State Police, was dispatched to a residence on Stephens Road in Parker, Perry Township, Clarion County, for a report of domestic violence.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, upon Trooper Lingle’s arrival, he made contact with the victims. The female victim related that her boyfriend, Daniel Hilliard, spit on her, shoved her to the ground, and stated that he wanted to “f****** kill her,” and she then ran out of the house and got her father for help.

According to the complaint, the female victim’s father then opened to door of the residence, and Hilliard was standing at the door with a loaded hunting rifle pointed at him. Hilliard then allegedly said to the male victim: “If you take one more step, I’m going to kill you,” and stepped toward him with the rifle. The male victim then grabbed the barrel of the rifle from Hilliard, and the two men wrestled over it until the male victim gained control.

Hilliard then punched the male victim in the face multiple times with a closed fist, according to the complaint.

He was arraigned in front of Judge Miller at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 6.
