Historic Holiday Homes Tours Scheduled for Venango County

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Eight homes built between 1860 and 1910 will be on display during the Christmas season as part of the Historic Homes Holiday Tour in Franklin, Venango County.

Franklin Preservation is offering the tours on December 21 from 11:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m. and December 22 from noon — 4:00 p.m.

A shuttle bus will be available for tour participants on both days.

Tickets are on sale at the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce, The Olive Vault in Franklin, and online from Eventbrite.com. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 on the day of the event. A limited number of tickets are being sold. If the tour sells out in advance, there will be no “at the door” sales.

The tour begins at Peddlers and Paddlers Inn on Elk Street where tour participants must exchange their ticket for a brochure and wristband, allowing entrance to the houses.

Franklin’s Historic District is one of Pennsylvania’s architectural gems with more than 200 significant buildings that represent over 20 different styles of architecture. The homes on the tour represent Italianate, Colonial Revival and Arts & Crafts styles.

Tour participants can also enjoy the festive Christmas lights, decorated store windows and huge lighted Christmas tree in downtown Franklin.

Directions, parking and additional information are available at www.franklinpreservation.org.

Proceeds from this event will go toward preservation in the Historic District of Franklin.
