According to Marienville-based State Police, the crash occurred around 2:31 p.m. on Friday, December 6, on Route 36 in Eldred Township, Jefferson County, involving 51-year-old Deborah L. Crothers, of McDonald, Pa., and 80-year-old Robert J. McGarvey, of Fallentimber, Pa.
Police say Crothers was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Routes 36 and 949 in a 2019 Toyota Highlander. A 2001 Kenworth driven by McGarvey was traveling southbound toward the intersection. The Toyota entered Route 36 and struck the Kenworth.
The Toyota came to a final rest facing northeast, and the Kenworth came to a final rest facing north.
Both vehicles sustained disabling damages.
Jefferson County EMS transported Carothers to DuBois Hospital for injuries of unknown severity.
McGarvey was not injured.
Both drivers were using seat belts.
Carothers was charged with a traffic violation.
Jefferson County EMS, Sigel Volunteer Fire Department, Leadbetter Towing, and McPherson Towing assisted at the scene.
