Linda Sue (Hester) Wright

lindaLinda Sue (Hester) Wright, age 64, of Tionesta, PA, passed away to join her parents, brother and Heavenly Father on Friday morning, December 13, 2019 at her home in Tionesta.

She was born on May 3, 1955 in Oil City, PA, daughter of the late Richard R. and Grace E. (Cox) Hester.

On November 5, 1984, she married her husband of 35 years, Farley E. Wright, who survives. Linda graduated from West Forest High School in 1973 and studied at Butler County Community College, in Butler, PA before graduating from Anderson College in Anderson, IN with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Her graduate work was at the University of Houston in Houston, TX, earning her Masters Degree in Social Work in 1980. Driven by a compassion to help people, she worked in social work her entire career, retiring from Renal Care of Oil City and Clarion, PA, where she worked as a Clinical Social Worker. Linda was an active member of the Tionesta United Methodist Church where she was presently serving as president of the church council. She was also a lifelong member of the National and State Associations of Social Workers and was a Past Matron of the Sylvania Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star #102 of Tionesta.

In addition to her husband Farley, she is survived by three sons: Sean W. Wright of Tionesta and his significant other Becki See of Titusville, PA; Chad E. Wright and his wife Jessica A. of Pittsburgh, PA; and Benjamin M. Wright and his wife Amie H. of Ligonier, PA. Additionally survived by six grandchildren, her brother Donald L. Hester and his wife Rita R. of McKean, PA.; her sister-in-law, Margaret “Maggie” Johnson and her husband John of Tionesta; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rick. R. Hester.

Friends will be received on Monday from 6-8 P.M. at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 10-11 A.M. at the Tionesta United Methodist Church, 208 Elm Street, Tionesta, PA 16353, where services will be held at 11 A.M. with Pastor Kathy Dom officiating. A private burial will be in Mt. Collins Cemetery in Tionesta.
