Police: Marienville Man Jailed After Assaulting Woman During Domestic Dispute

PAINT TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Marienville man has been jailed after he allegedly assaulted a woman on Friday, February 14, during a domestic dispute and then left her along the roadway in Paint Township.

According to Marienville-based State Police, around 2:55 p.m. on Friday, the victim — a 24-year-old Marienville woman — arrived at PSP Marienville barracks to report that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend.

Through the course of the investigation, it was discovered that both the victim and her paramour were having relationship issues and engaged in an argument at various location(s) traveling in and from Clarion.

Police say 31-year-old Bryan Barto, of Marienville, drove from State Route 66 onto Breniman Road, and “according to the victim, he stopped his 1997 Chevrolet S-10 pickup and struck her in the face, mainly on the left side.”

The victim later “found herself standing on Breniman Road, and Barto drove off leaving the victim,” according to police.

Barto was later taken into custody and arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Schill.

Bail was set at $25,000.00 straight, and Barto was remanded to the Clarion County Jail.

A State Parole Detainer was forwarded to the Clarion County Jail at this time.

The investigation remains open.
