State Police Respond to Accidental Shooting

ROCKLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A 53-year-old man was injured in an accidental shooting on Saturday morning in Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, a father and son were hunting in the area of Rockland Station Road, in Rockland Township, Venango County,

While walking uphill, the son fell and his rifle discharged, shooting his father in the hip.

The father — a 53-year-old Ellwood City man — was taken to UPMC Northwest for treatment of his injuries.
