CLARION, Pa. — It took Katelyn Cecchetti about 120 hours to complete the three pieces of artwork that she has displayed on the office walls at Healthy Beginnings Pediatrics.

A Masters student at Mercyhurst University, Cecchetti hopes to become an art teacher after graduation.

The three pieces at Dr. Kamel’s pediatric office were part of her thesis gallery show. The paintings feature close-up views of children’s toys.

“I got my inspiration from my mom’s classroom. She teaches preschool at St. Joseph’s in Lucinda, and I was looking at all her bins of toys and manipulatives,” Cecchetti said.

Cecchetti wanted to get exposure for her art in the Clarion community, and that’s why she approached Dr. Kamel about displaying her work at his office.

Office Manager for Dr. Kamel, Jo Shaffer said, “We are so happy to have the artwork. We get so many compliments from our patients. Our office was brand new just a year ago, and we are so proud of the lovely finishes and fixtures. Having fine, original art is icing on the cake.

Cecchetti has an online portfolio, which can be viewed at www.katelyncecchetti.wix.com/fineart.
