Karle-Lutz-1448639895This Thanksgiving morning, Karle D. Lutz, 61, of Oil City, PA passed from the arms of his family into the arms of our Lord. Karle is survived by his wife of 33 years, Julie, of Oil City.

Karle was born in Oil City to Karle and Emma Jean Marshall Lutz in 1954.

He spent most of his childhood working and playing at his grandparent’s farm. Karle graduated from Oil City High School in 1972 with a football scholarship to attend Slippery Rock University. Upon graduating from Slippery Rock in 1976, Karle moved to Coatesville, PA where he was an elementary school teacher and coach for five years. It was in Coatesville where he met and married his wife Julie in 1982. Karle and Julie returned to Oil City in 1984 and began their family. He then decided to turn his true passion into his profession and began his own custom home building company. Over the years, Karle has built 55 custom homes throughout PA. Karle was a devout Christian and an active member of Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City where he served as an elder, trustee, and Sunday school teacher. He also served as a member of the Oil City School Board for over 20 years.

Karle will always be remembered by those in his life, no matter how long, for his faithfulness, wittiness and outlook on life. Karle is survived by his loving wife Julie; his son Josh Lutz and his wife Kristen of Mercer, PA; his daughter Abigail Rudy and her husband Joseph of Crestview, FL; his grandson Jacob Karle Lutz of Mercer, PA; his parents Karle B. and Emma Jean Lutz of Oil City; his sister Kathy Dymond and her husband Doug of Lebanon, PA; his brother David Lutz of Pittsburgh, PA; his sister Robin Lutz of Arlington, VA; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins throughout PA and elsewhere.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing at Morrison Funeral Home in Oil City on Saturday, Nov. 28th, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm.

There will also be a Celebration of Life at Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City at 1pm on Sunday Nov. 29th, where all are welcome. There will be a meal following the Celebration.

Interment will be in Lamey Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers his family encourages that donations be made in his honor to either Mustard Seed Missions of Venango County (Mustard Seed Missions is a cooperative effort between local churches that provides housing and transportation to those in need.), 149 Summit Drive, Suite B, Franklin, PA 16323, or Venango County Youth for Christ, 107 Bredinsburg Rd., Seneca, PA 16346, so that the blessing may continue to multiply.
