DEVELOPING STORY: Rimersburg Man Faces Over 2,700 Counts for Alleged Rape of Child
According to a criminal complaint, New Bethlehem Police Department issued an arrest warrant for 65-year-old Thomas Eugene Curry, of Rimersburg, for alleged sexual offenses that occurred on or about June 24, 2011, to June 23, 2013.
The complaint states that around 3:15 p.m. on November 20, 2014, Sergeant Roger E. Wright, of the New Bethlehem Police Department, was contacted via phone by CYS (Clarion County Children and Youth Services) concerning a report of suspected child abuse, implicating Thomas Eugene Curry as the sex offender.
A Forensic Interview was conducted on December 4, 2014, at Western PA Cares for Kids in Brookville, and Sergeant Wright observed the interview on a television screen in another room.
During the interview, the victim described in detail the alleged sexual abuse that occurred about four times per week. She indicated that Curry told her, “Don’t say nothing or there will be consequences.” The victim also said that “Curry had threatened to kill her (family) if she told anyone about the sexual abuse,” the complaint indicates.
