Peg and Mike raised a family of six children.

During her years in Oil City Peg was active in the Pinoak Elementary School (Cranberry Township) PTA. She worked for several years in husband Mike’s dental office and then with the Cranberry schools Title 1 Program. Peg volunteered at the Oil City Hospital and was active in the League of Women Voters, for which she served as president. Peg enjoyed many years of friendship with her neighbors.

Peg is remembered with great love and devotion by her children: Peg Szweda and husband Ron of Michigan; Richard McNamara and wife Peggy of Maryland; Nevin McNamara of Oil City; Mary Perdue and husband Mark of Virginia; Anne Goss of Oil City; and Suzanne McNamara of Colorado.

Her loving grandchildren are Allison McNamara of Oil City; Elizabeth Hooks and husband Richard of Maryland; and Monika Varley and husband Matt of Ohio. Three great grandchildren, Evan, Luke, and Ben Hooks of Maryland; brother Nevin Woodside, Jr. of Pennsylvania; sister-in-law Kathryn Albo of Pennsylvania; and nieces and nephews also survive.

Peg was predeceased by her husband Mike in 1978. Her brother Murray Woodside, daughter-in-law Mary Grace McNamara, and son-in-law David Snyder also preceded her in death.

Peg’s children Mary, Suzanne, Peg, Richard, and Nevin lovingly thank their sister Anne for all the help and support she provided their mother over many years. Her children also express their gratitude to the wonderful caregivers who looked after Peg for the past 3 ½ years and to the VNA for its excellent service.

In accordance with Peg’s wishes, a private family service will be held.

The Morrison Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
