District 9 Releases Baseball Playoff Brackets

Seeding in Class 1A is as follows:

1. DuBois Central Catholic
2. Otto-Eldred
3. Clarion-Limestone
4. Clarion
5. Elk County Catholic
6. North Clarion
7. Port Allegany

Quarterfinal matches are at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, and see Port Allegany at Otto-Eldred at Ron Huben Park in Eldred, North Clarion at Clarion-Limestone and ECC at Clarion at the Clarion County Park outside of Shippenville.

Semifinal games will be Thursday, May 23, at neutral sites to be announced and the title game will be May 28 at Showers Field in DuBois.

Class 2A seeding is as follows:

1. Coudersport
2. Moniteau
3. Karns City
4. Johnsonburg
5. Brockway
6. Redbank Valley
7. Cranberry

Quarterfinal matches will be Tuesday, May 21, and will be as follows:

Cranberry at Moniteau, 6:30 p.m. at Pullman Park in Butler
Redbank Valley at Karns City, 4 p.m. at Pullman Park in Butler
Brockway at Johnsonburg, 4:30 p.m. at Knothole Field in Johnsonburg

Semifinals will be at neutral sites Thursday, May 23. The title game will be May 28 at Showers Field in DuBois.

The loser of the title game will go into a subregional with District 6 and District 4 with the D6 runner-up playing the D9 runner-up May 29 at Showers Field and the winner of that game playing the D4 runner-up May 31 at either Showers Field (if D9 team wins May 29 game) or at Mt. Aloysius (if D6 wins May 29 game) with winner of May 31 game advancing to PIAA playoffs.

Class 3A will play in a subregional with District 5 with two D9 teams playing each other in the semifinals and two D5 teams facing off in the semifinals.

Brookville will take on Kane at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Showers Field with Bedford taking on Chestnut Ridge at a site, time and place to be announced. The title game will be May 29 at Kuntz Field in Punxsutawney.

The Class 4A seeding is as follows:

1. Punxsutawney
2. St. Marys
3. Clearfield
4. Bradford

A semifinal doubleheader will be played Thursday, May 23, at Showers Field with Bradford taking on Punxsutawney at 4 p.m. at Clearfield taking on St. Marys at 6:30 p.m. The title game will be May 29 at Showers Field.
