YMCA Announces New Programming for Summer

volleyballCLARION, Pa. – The YMCA has announced new programming for summer. 

Registration for programs is available at the Clarion County YMCA, online at or by mailing a paper registration (found at to 499 Mayfield Road, Clarion, PA 16214.


Volleyball is for youth/teens looking for practice or a fun game of volleyball.  Those who are new are welcome to come and enjoy our volleyball in the Gym!  No experience required and parents are welcome. Held Fridays 5 pm—6 pm in June.


Join Clarion County YMCA’s first competitive volleyball league.  We will follow 6 vs. 6 co-ed game in a pool play format.  Look for details on the registration flyer.  Ages 15+.  Held Thursdays June 6, 13, 20, 27 from 7-9 pm.  $180/team + $10 per non-member. Register by May 31.



Get involved in the YMCA’s first Pickleball Tournament!  There are two leagues for this tournament: Serious or Friendly!  Pick up a registration form for full details.  Forms are located at Tuesday Evenings/Wednesday Mornings in June. Friendly League (ages 10+); Serious League (ages 15+). Members:  Youth Team $10; Adult Team $15. Non-Members:  Youth Team $15; Adult Team $25. Register by May 31.


Join your friends for a picnic.  This summer, YMCA members are invited to a picnic hosted at the YMCA one Thursday a month.  Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided.  Members can bring their favorite side dish or dessert to share.  Luncheon dates are:

  • Thursday, June 20 at 12:00 pm
  • Thursday, July 18 at 12:00 pm
  • Thursday, August 29 at 12:00 pm


Tumble Time is an excellent introduction to gymnastics for ages 3-5.  Tumble time offers songs, games, tumbling and exploration during a structured and active playtime.  Tumbling develops strength, flexibility, confidence and social skills.  Held June, July & August. Tuesday:  4:00—4:45 pm.  Thursday: 4:00—4:45 pm. $5/month for Members; $20/month for Non-members.


We offer one-on-one sport lessons in Basketball, Soccer, Pickleball, Flag Football and Volleyball.  We can support those new to a sport in getting a head start, or provide guidance on the finer points. Lessons are sold in (4) blocks of 30 minute sessions.  Ages 3+. Flexible Days and times.  45/Youth Member; $60/Adult Member.  $60/Youth Non-member; $80/Adult Non-member.


Join other moms and their babies for push-ups, sit-ups and planks that involve leaning in to kiss your little one!  Do squats and lunges using your baby as an added weight.  We’ll even get some cardio and core exercise in with your little one on board!  These exercises will captivate your baby while you get a great workout.  Tuesdays 9 am to 9:50 am. $27/Members; $40 Non-members.


A date night for you.  A great night for them!  Drop the kids off at the YMCA at 5 pm.  We have the    evening planned.  The kids will be grouped into ages 3-5, 6-9, and 10-14.  Each group will have two   activities and a snack break, then will watch a  movie together.  June 28, July 26, August 30, September 27.  5 pm to 8 pm for ages 3-14.  $15 per child/Members; $40 per child/Non-members.


The Y is now offering Red Cross certification in adult, infant and pediatric first aid, CPR and AED.  This is an excellent opportunity to learn the skills to feel confident and empowered in an emergency. Held Saturday, July 6 for ages 15+. $80/Members; $100/Non-members. Register by July 5.


Do you work for a service providing support and care for individuals with unique needs? Feel safe and empowered when you provide support for your clients in or near water.  The course includes adult, infant and pediatric first aid, CPR and AED certification and lifeguarding techniques.  Contact James at for more details.


Need to warm up and get moving? Looking for exercise   without exhaustion? Want to meet new people and have a morning laugh? Come and join in Renee’s excellent water exercise program. Renee has years of experience in aquatic strength training, senior aquatic fitness and how to support arthritis in the water – She really knows how to ease those pains and keep you fit with a smile! Tuesday & Thursday 9:30 am – 10:15 am.  Monthly Fee:  FREE/Members; $27/non-member; $5 drop in.


Susan has been working at the Y a long time and has developed an excellent reputation as a high energy cardio       instructor. Her Aqua classes are always to music, always with a smile and will have you working!  Tuesday & Friday 10:30 am – 11:45 am.  Monthly Fee:  FREE for YMCA Members; $40/Non-members; $7 drop in fee per class.


Classes are low impact, often utilize floatation aids and are tailored to support the needs of those enrolled.  Ease your joints in our warm pool!  Marci is certified through the Arthritis Foundation.  Tuesdays and Fridays 12 pm—1 pm.  Monthly Fee:  FREE for YMCA Members; $27/Non-members; $5 drop-in fee per class; No class in July or August.


This energizing water workout will keep your heart rate up and your muscles moving.  Marcy has lots of water exercise experience and a reputation for a fast-paced class.  Join in for a great workout!  Monday & Wednesday 5 pm—6:00 pm.  Monday & Thursday 12:00—1:00 pm.  Monthly Fee:  FREE for YMCA Members; $27/Non-members; $5 drop-in fee per class.


Learn a life skill with our trained and experienced swim instructors. We are proud to offer a safe, nurturing and welcoming learning environment and have classes available for everyone at different stages. Our “Me and My Shadow” class is for parents and young children who are ready to be introduced to the water for the first time. Classes 1+2 are for surviving in the water, 3+4 are for developing a swim technique and levels 5+6 are for continued swim development. Please use the “level selector” on our website or ask our staff for support in placing your child in a class.  Benches are available for spectators during the lessons.

Flip & Dip is a beginner gymnastics and swimming program for preschool children ages 3-5.  Children begin with 30 minutes of tumbling, followed by a 30 minute beginner swim lesson.  Hint:  Girls wear swimsuits for gymnastics and boys wear swim trunks and t-shirts.  Sign up by the first of the month.  Tuesday  5:00—6:05 pm OR Thursday 5:00—6:05 pm. $20/month for Members; $40/month for Non-members.

The Clarion County YMCA hours are: Weekdays 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m and Sundays from 9 am to 4 pm.  The YMCA is closed on Sundays from Memorial weekend through Labor Day weekend.
