PA Great Outdoors: East Brady Celebrates 150th Birthday
EAST BRADY, Pa. – East Brady, named for Revolutionary War hero Samuel Brady, is celebrating its 150th birthday this year. The town has seen many changes throughout the year but has always remained a scenic river town with a lot of charm and beauty.

East Brady is a community that celebrates life on the Allegheny. Downtown, visitors will find a mural called “Playground of the Allegheny.” Pool #9 is the northern most deep-water pool on the river and is popular with power boats and jet skis. Nearby Brady’s Bend Overlook offers a stunning panoramic view of river valley below.
The townspeople have several events planned to celebrate the 150th birthday. May 25th kicks off with an Attics and Cellars Day town wide starting at 8am. While perusing around town looking for deals, stop in at the East Brady Volunteer Fire Hall for the Chicken BBQ starting at 11am.
June 8 will make your belly happy with the Ox Roast. Riverfest kicks off July 25 for a 3-day festival, geared towards the entire family, that has been an annual tradition for the past 34 years. Summer closes with Pig Roast and celebration on August 31.
And the year winds down with We Believe Light-Up Night on Saturday, December 7 at 4:30pm at the Veteran’s Memorial Park on Kelly’s Way. There will be a visit from Santa, Christmas carolers, popcorn, cookies, and hot chocolate.
Additional plans are being made for September 21 for a Ride, Eat, and Repeat event. Check back to the events calendar at VisitPAGO.com later in the year for details.
