Roscoe the Beagle Writes a Letter to Santa
For Christmas, I would like a family of my own.
You see I had a family for the first two and a half years of my life. I even had a canine brother who I loved. My canine brother passed away, and I was very sad. And, I started to get overwhelmed by the children in the family, I’m a shy boy. Next thing I knew I was living here at Tri-County.
The folks at Tri-County have been very good to me.
I have a couple of special “aunts” who spend a lot of time with me and have helped me with my shyness. They all say I’m ready to move on, and I am ready. I love all my friends at Tri-County, but I need a family of my own, so that’s all I’m asking for for Christmas.
Here’s some information you might need about me to help find my new family.
I am neutered, microchipped, and have all my shots. I am completely housebroken and very obedient. I know how to sit, shake, and stay. I like sniffing around the yard and going on walks; I walk very well on a leash. I LOVE other dogs and going for car rides. Some of my favorite foods are ice cream and hamburgers. I don’t like to get wet or dirty, I avoid mud and puddles at all costs. I have a goofy personality and like to sit on laps and give kisses when I’m comfortable with a person. I never bark outside my kennel even when I see other dogs or people. I’m a quiet boy. I do not chew or tear things up, and I listen when corrected.
In case you’re wondering why a good boy like me has been at the center for so long, I bark and growl when strange people approach my kennel. People get scared, and they keep walking past my kennel. But, I never bark or growl any other time. I’ve been to many public places and events and never make a sound, but like a lot of dogs, I react in the kennel.
I know you’re very busy Santa, but do you think you could find a kind person who is patient that would take me home?
I take a little time to build trust with people, but once I know they won’t hurt me, I’m a big lover boy! Is there a family out there with a quiet home that would like a friend to go on walks and car rides and snuggle?
P.S. My friend Lenny the Boxer would like a soft blanket and a nice toy for his kennel, but it has to be sturdy ‘cause he chews stuff up.
