Clintonville Man Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Mercer County
WILMINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Clintonville man was taken to a nearby hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Mercer County.
According to a release issued by PSP Mercer on Monday, August 21, the crash took place at 2:01 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, at the intersection of New Castle Mercer Road and Leesburg Station Road, in Wilmington Township, Mercer County.
Police say 76-year-old Rodney C. Gladd, of Clintonville, was stopped at a stop sign in a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado while traveling northbound on New Castle Mercer Road.
Gladd then entered the intersection directly in front of a 2006 Lexus GS300 operated by 46-year-old Becky M. Sabo, of Volant, striking it in the front end with its front end.
The collision caused Gladd’s vehicle to rotate counterclockwise off the western side of the roadway, where it struck a traffic sign with its front end.
Sabo’s vehicle continued through and off the western side of the roadway, coming to rest in a field with heavy front end damage.
Gladd was transported to AHN Grove City by Shenango Township Volunteer Fire Department to treat possible injury.
Sabo and her passenger—39-year-old Seth A. Halpern, of Lawton, OK—were taken to AHN Grove City by Elite EMS with possible injuries.
All three occupants were using a seat belt.
According to police, Gladd was charged with a traffic violation.
