Brookville Man Injured in Motorcycle Crash

ELDRED TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A 51-year-old Brookville man was taken to a nearby hospital following a motorcycle accident in Eldred Township, Jefferson County, yesterday.

State police in Marienville said the accident happened around 3:55 p.m. when Duncan E. Beatty, 51, of Brookville, failed to notice that he was approaching stopped traffic while traveling north on SR-36.

Beatty attempted to stop his motorcycle and subsequently skidded for approximately 51 feet before the motorcycle overturned on its right side.

The motorcycle then continued traveling 54 feet before striking an embankment on the east side of the roadway, throwing Beatty from the motorcycle.

The motorcycle came to a rest 39 feet north of Beatty.

Beatty was transported to Brookville Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Sigel VFD and Brookville Area EMS and Ambulance assisted at the scene.
