Sigel Woman Injured after Crashing into Bear

ELDRED TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A 54-year-old Sigel woman was injured after her vehicle collided with a bear.

Police said the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. yesterday when 54-year-old Karen Dauer was traveling east on Spring Creek Road in Eldred Township, Jefferson County, when three small bears ran into the path of her vehicle.

Dauer’s vehicle subsequently crashed into one of the bears. Her vehicle then traveled off the roadway and collided with a culvert and a metal grate.

Dauer was transported to Brookville Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
