Woman Seriously Injured in Rt. 322 Crash

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – A 22-year-old woman sustained major injuries in a one-vehicle crash near Reynoldsville.

State police in Punxsutawney said the accident occurred occurred around 1:00 a.m. on July 12 when 22-year-old Brittany M. Smith lost control of her 1989 Oldsmobile Delta 88 while traveling up a hill on SR-322 in Winslow Township, Jefferson County.

Smith’s vehicle traveled off the roadway and onto an embankment, police said.

Her vehicle continued to travel along the embankment for approximately 60 feet before crashing into a mailbox.

Smith’s vehicle then traveled across SR-322, collided with another embankment, and struck a 6-foot deep culvert.

The vehicle then traveled backwards approximately 4 feet and came to a rest.

Smith was transported via private vehicle to Dubois Regional Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.

There’s no word on her current condition.
