Local Woman Accused of Kneeing Ex-Husband in Groin During Incident in Strattanville

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — A local woman was arrested for allegedly kneeing her ex-husband in the groin during an incident in Strattanville Borough.

According to court records, Clarion-based State Police filed criminal charges against 48-year-old Shondra Dawn Wareham, of Clarion, in District Judge Timothy P. Schill’s office on March 25.

According to a recently released complaint, PSP Clarion was dispatched around 8:14 p.m. on Friday, March 22, to a residence in the 600 block of Main Street, in Strattanville Borough, Clarion County, for a report of an inactive domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, troopers spoke with victim, who reported his former wife, Shondra Wareham, came to the residence and started an argument. He related he asked her to leave, but she refused, the complaint states.

The victim explained he then forced her outside, and she scratched him on the side of his neck, causing a mark with bleeding, the complaint contines.

The victim further told police Wareham kneed him in the groin multiple times as they both fell to the ground, according to the complaint.

A known witness was interviewed on the scene and stated he attempted to separate the two individuals before Wareham bit him (the witness) on the arm, leaving “bodily injury,” according to the complaint.

Troopers located Wareham at another residence and interviewed her.

According to the complaint, Wareham went to the residence for divorce papers. She stated (her ex-husband) got up and shoved her out of the door before she kneed him, the complaint states.

After they fell over, Wareham explained the witness got (her ex-husband) off of her, at which point she bit the witness on the arm. She related she bit him because he grabbed her, the complaint indicates.

Wareham told police she didn’t remember scratching (the victim), but “it was possible” while they were on the ground, the complaint notes.

Wareham was arraigned on the following charges in front of District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller at 10:45 p.m. on March 22:

  • Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
  • Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

She was released on $2,500.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for Tuesday, April 9, at 10:15 a.m. with Judge Miller presiding.
