UPDATE: Route 66 Reopened, Several Roads Still Closed in Area After Heavy Rainfall; Flood Warning Remains in Effect

UPDATE: Route 66 Reopened, Several Roads Still Closed in Area After Heavy Rainfall; Flood Warning Remains in Effect

CLARION COUNTY, Pa. – Route 66 in Clarion County has reopened after heavy rainfall that began on Tuesday evening wreaked havoc on area roadways.

PennDOT Community Relations Coordinator Tina Gibbs is advising motorists of the following weather-related road closures, as of 5:58 p.m. on April 3:


  • Route 56 between Montgomery Hill to Gobbler’s Run Road in South Bend Township
  • Route 3013 (Nicola Road/Mushroom Farm Road) between M&M Lime Company Drive to Fennelton Road in West Franklin Township
  • Route 4035 (Craigsville Road/Yellow Dog Road) between Old Butler Road to Airport Road in West Franklin Township


  • Renfrew Road (Route 3006) between Meridian Road and Three Degree Road in Penn Township
  • Benbrook Road/Three Degree Road/Valencia Road/Meridian Road (Route 3007) Meridian between Renfrew Road and Smith Road in Penn Township
  • Route 38 between the beginning of Route 38 and Hohn Farm Road in Oakland Twp
  • Little Creek Road/Yellow Creek Road (Route 3025) between the intersection of Little Creek Road and East Lancaster Road in Lancaster Township
  • Route 1010 (Church Street/Hooker Road/South Street/Hallston Road) between the Intersection of Troutman Road and Seven Hills Road in Concord Township.
  • Route 3027 (Seneca School Road/Hartmann Road) between the intersections of Evergreen Mill Road and Textor Hill Road in Jackson Township.


  • Route 403 between the intersection of Franklin Street to Adams Adams Street in Clymer Borough
  • Route 56 between the intersection of Charles Road in East Wheatfield Township to the County Line
  • Route 1014 (Wandin Road/Pine Flats Road) between the intersection of Hill Road and Route 580 in Green Twp to 580
  • Route 954 between the intersection of Indiana Road in Creekside Boro and Kunkle Road, Stuchell Road in Washington Township.
  • Route 3056 (Old Route 56/Main Street/Elm Street/Ridge Avenue) between the intersection of Cooper Street in Homer City Borough and Riverside Avenue in Center Township
  • Route 2013 (Grange Hall Road/Stutzman Road/Plowman Road/Gas Center Road/Wehrum Road/Rexis Road) between Plowman Road in East Wheatfield Township and Wissinger Road in Buffington Township


  • Route 2008 (Desire Road/Rock Dump Road/Panic Wishaw Road/Panic Knoxdale Road/Berry Road) between the intersection of Route 119 to Route 410 in Henderson Township

PennDOT cautions motorists to never drive through flooded roadways, as it takes just two feet of fast-moving water to float a car.

Anyone who drives around barriers intended to close a road can face increased penalties if emergency responders are called to rescue motorists who disregard traffic control signs. If a road is flooded, don’t try to drive through it.
