Former Clarion Teacher Charged with Rape of 11-year-old Boy

CLARION, Pa. – A former Clarion High School teacher has been charged with the rape of an underage boy.

According to court records, Gary L. Weckerly, 60, Sligo, is charged with the raping an 11-year-old boy four times in 2006.

Weckerly, a retired shop teacher from Clarion Area High School, is facing 65 charges, including 4 counts of rape, 4 counts of ISDI (Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse) with a person less than 13-years-old, 56 counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13-years-old, and 1 count of corruption of minors.

Weckerly was placed in Clarion County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1/17/12 at District Court 18-3-02 in Shippenville.
