Knox Mayor’s Business Spotlight: Family Chiropractic of Knox

KNOX, Pa. — Knox Mayor Frank Agnello submitted the following business spotlight on Family Chiropractic of Knox:

Let’s swing the spotlight over to the east side of Knox this month to another one of the great Knox businesses that people come to from miles around. Family Chiropractic of Knox is well known in this area, they have been doing great work there for many years now. Everyone knows you can trust the folks at Family Chiropractic to provide quality chiropractic services; they have a fantastic reputation. Dr. Jeffrey Green and his wife Deborah have invested a lifetime of hard work building the facility into what it is today. We are lucky to have this fine business in Knox, Pa.

The history of this business has to begin with Dr. Jeffrey Green who grew up in Franklin, Pa., and graduated from Franklin High in 1975. After high school it was a musical journey at first for Jeffrey who played guitar and traveled across the country with different bands. Jeff still plays many instruments today, and music is still a passion for him. It was during these times that he met his wife, Deborah Heller, in 1981. Deborah was from Knox, a 1978 Keystone Graduate who went on to Clarion University where she became a RN. Jeffrey & Deborah were married in 1983. They are the proud parents of two fine children today, Ryan (31) and Christian (27).

In 1984, Dr. Green began his “pre-med” studies at Clarion University, then went on to finish at Brenau University in Gainesville Georgia where he received his degree. Then it was 4 more years of chiropractic study at LIFE University in Marietta Georgia where he received his degree in 1991. The Greens moved back to Knox, Pa., at this time, and Dr. Green began his practice up in Franklin at 1212 Elk Street where Fred Robbins had his facility. Dr. Green also did a few days a week up at Greenville Chiropractic during these times, working both locations, traveling from Knox daily. This continued on until 1994 when the Greens opened up their business outside of Knox on SR208 at the former Hamilton house. The Greens worked from this location up till 1996 when they decided to build a new home and chiropractic facility in Knox at the present day location of 108 Rossman Avenue. The property was purchased in the spring of 1996 from Charles Houston, and Tharan Construction began construction immediately with the Greens moving in to the new facility (and home) before the winter of 1996.

The rest (as they say) is history. The Green family worked together and Family Chiropractic of Knox grew. In 1999 another chiropractor (Troy Zacherl) was added to the facility to take on the increased volume of patients. In 2004, two more chiropractors came on board at the facility who are both still there today. Dr. Michael Cerra and Dr. Timothy Purcell were welcome additions to the staff. Dr. Purcell is certified in Acupressure. Dr. Green also holds additional degrees these days; he is a certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, a certified Chiropractic Rehabilitation Doctor, and he’s certified in Applied Kinesiology.

Lots of professional services going on these days at Family Chiropractic of Knox. They have three massage therapists on a staff that includes two RN’s and two LPN’s. Vicky Heller is one of their longest term employees; she has been with the Green family since 1994 doing the bulk of the billing and bookkeeping.

In November 2015, Family Chiropractic of Knox purchased the former Chadwick Chiropractic Center located at 514 Liberty Street in Clarion. Dr. Eric Easton will be the primary chiropractor at this Clarion Facility. Dr. Eric Easton is from Charleroi, Pa., originally, and his wife (the former Susan Gatesman) is from the Knox area. Eric and Susan have just relocated back to the area from Las Vegas, NV, and they both have had a desire to raise their family in Clarion County. Dr. Easton graduated from National Chiropractic College and is in his 25th year of practice. He also holds a degree as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician.

This mayor salutes Family Chiropractic of Knox and everyone on their entire staff. Knox is fortunate to have these professionals providing their great services in our town. They are certainly another one of the great Knox business we are lucky to have in our borough.

Long Live — Family Chiropractic of Knox.

~Frank Agnello, Knox Mayor
