Man Facing Charges in Alcohol-Related Crash in Emlenton

EMLENTON BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin-based State Police, a Franklin man is facing charges following an alleged DUI crash that occurred on Kerr Avenue, in Emlenton Borough, Venango County.

Police say this incident occurred around 4:57 p.m. on July 11, 2016, as 33-year-old Charles Alan McVay, of Franklin, crashed his pickup truck on Kerr Avenue in Emlenton Borough.

According to police, “it was later determined (McVay) was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.”

The following charges were filed with Magisterial District 28-3-04 on August 16, 2016:

  • DUI: Gen Imp/Inc of Driving Safely — 1st Offense, Misdemeanor
  • DUI: Gen Imp (BAC .08 — .10) 1st Off, Misdemeanor
  • Fail To Keep Right, Summary
  • Disregard Traffic Lane (Single), Summary
  • Careless Driving, Summary
  • Fail to use safety belt — driver and front seat occupant, Summary

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on September 28 in Venango County Central Court with Magisterial District Judge
Patrick E. Lowrey presiding.

It is unknown whether McVay was injured during the crash.
