Clarion Harriers Have Another Strong Performance Tuesday

CLARION, Pa. — The Clarion cross country teams experienced continued success Tuesday over Keystone winning the varsity boys’ and girls’ raced and the junior high girls’ race.

The boys’ team, led by overall winner Adam Bettwy (17:52) defeated Keystone 23-43. The Bobcats took seven of the top 10 spots with Nathaniel Lerch (19:02) finishing in fourth place and Marshall Powers (19:45) in fifth. Rounding out the top 10 were Jimmy Smathers (19:49), Nick Schill (19:52), Noah Schill (20:15) and Frank Webber (20:26).

Jacob Smith (20:46) Dan Ketner (21:16) Nate Datko (22:51) Alex Cussins (23:19) and Victor Stahlman (25:40) rounded out the field of Clarion men.

For the girls’ team, Chelsea Mason (21:45) was the overall winner followed by Katie Craig (22:13) in second. Gabby Fleming(24:00) finished fourth, Leticia Negri (25:28) finished sixth and Emma Sptiz (26:29) followed in seventh.

In junior high girls action, Clarion remained undefeated with a 25-30 victory. Evelyn Lerch (11:42) was the overall winner with Bella Scott (12:40) coming in fourth. Other top 10 finishers for the Lady Catsin included Payton Simko (12:42), Joyce Kim (13:34), Parker Boyden (13:40) and Livia Weckerly (14:44.).

The boys’ junior high race saw Keystone hand Clarion its first loss 24-33.

Overall winner Don Cunningham (11:02) led the meet with Gavin Hoover (12:11) coming in fifth place for Clarion. Kaegen Phillips (12:27) came in sixth and Kade Phillips (12:56) rounded out the top 10.
