580f80a640415Lois Ruth McCoy, 93, of Parker, passed away at the Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sligo, Pa. on October 23, 2016.

Born in Sandy Hollow on July 14, 1923, she was the daughter of the late George S. Anderson and Bessie E. King.

Lois was married on November 24, 1940 to the late Wade C. McCoy, who proceeded her in death on December 28, 1984.

During World War II, Lois worked in Beaver, Pa. as a welder making airplane propellers. Later, she and her husband Wade bought a store and restaurant in West Monterey, giving it the original name “McCoy’s”. Following the store she and her husband worked at the former glass plant in parker before owning McCoy’s Tavern for more than 10 years.

Lois was a very avid hunter and fisherman, traveling to Canada, New York and around PA to fish and hunt. She also enjoyed traveling across the states visiting most of the National and State Parks.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother; David Anderson, and two sisters; Helen Kriebel and Lillian Seigel.

Lois is survived by two daughters; Patricia (Rodney) Bowser of Dutch Hill, Parker, Pa., and Kathleen “Butch” Fulmer of Parker, Pa., four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
