Emlenton Man Pleads Guilty to Sexually Assaulting Teen

EMLENTON, Pa. (EYT) – A 52-year-old Emlenton man recently pleaded guilty to a felony sexual assault charge after he was accused of raping a 14-year-old boy at his Richland Township home.

Boyce Kendal Jones, 52, of Emlenton, pleaded to a first-degree felony charge of statutory sexual assault of a minor (11 years and older). Six other charges, including four felonies, were dismissed.

According to a previously published story on exploreClarion.com, a criminal complaint was filed by Clarion-based State Police Trooper William Craddock based on an investigation that was initiated on April 4 after the victim told a school official about the alleged assault.

Victim Interviewed by State Police

The complaint states that Trooper Craddock interviewed the victim on April 4 with a Clarion County Children and Youth Services case worker present.

During the interview, the victim stated that he received text messages from Jones on April 3, requesting that the victim visit Jones, “because he was alone.”

Jones was outside smoking a cigarette when the victim arrived at the nearby residence and was wearing only a pair of shorts.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim entered the residence and used the bathroom, at which point he received a text message from Jones, stating that he “would be naked when he got there.”

The victim stated that Jones was naked when he came out of the bathroom. Jones also allegedly locked the door to prevent the victim from leaving the residence, the complaint continues.

Jones then allegedly removed the victim’s shirt and attempted to kiss him. He then allegedly tried to put his hands down the victim’s pants.

The criminal complaint states that Jones then removed the victim’s pants and touched him inappropriately. The victim told police that Jones then proceeded to rape him.

According to the criminal complaint, the boy was eventually able to get away from Jones and left the residence.

Jones Questioned at PSP Clarion Barracks

The complaint states that Trooper Craddock interviewed Jones at the Clarion-based State Police barracks around 8:25 p.m.

Jones initially denied any wrongdoing, but later admitted to engaging in sexual acts with the victim, claiming the relations were consensual.

He “acknowledged that he knew the victim’s age and knew that it was wrong,” according to the criminal complaint.

A sentencing date for Jones has yet to be announced.
